Great Falls, Great Company, Bad Weather

My niece, Karen, and her friend, Dan, visited this past weekend. Despite the rain, we decided to put on rain gear and take a trip to Great Falls from the Maryland side. The river was swollen so much that there was a secondary rapids between the Canal and the Potomac that was as spectular as the main falls. The roar of the rushing water was nearly deafening as we crossed the angry waters on a foot bridge. What a memorable experience, so much so that I would recommend going there in the rain, after a deluge, for sure. Afterward there's the dryer for the wet jackets, Ben & Jerry's ice cream for the cold and weary, and downloaded photos to revive the memory.
