After eight years of living in this house, the Pyracantha bush is finally blooming, and lots of blooms. Interesting, I had always called it "pyracanthia", but in looking up the spelling, I see that there is no "i" before the last "a". This is going to difficult: changing my pronunciation of this word! Back to the blooming bush. When I moved here, the Pyrancantha bush against the shop had been neglected and badly in need of pruning. For eight years, I have pruned it and given it better shape, but year after year it was just a green bush. This is the year, apparently, for this bush to be the star in the yard. I had to prune it, as it was growing with exuberance, and I grimmaced at each branch severed with a cluster of blooms, but there are plently left on the bush. Now I'm looking forward to the beautiful red berries in the Fall.
