Closing the Year with a Quilt in Progress

Still working on a quilt, here at the end of the year, that I'd hoped to have finished for the start of my niece's freshman year of college. Thankfully, she is patient, but she does ask, "How's the quilt coming Aunt Twila?".

Having finished the inner section which will have a large applique of two riders on horses, I was unsure how to extend the quilt for a twin bed size. I settled on triangles in alternating light/dark and like the result thus far.

The center section of the quilt upon which the applique will be applied in the lower right area.

The side sections, placed against the center section. The center section of the quilt has been folded into itself so that the quilt fits on my design board. I will be quilting this one with Lois Smith's quilt-as-you-go method.

Hey Twila,

It looks great! I'm glad to see you with a "net presence" finally ...and what a great project to start it with!
