We had an interesting encounter with a Rolling Thunder cyclecade (what to call it?) on I-270 as John and I started our trip to Harrisonburg. At the entrance ramp to 270 we were held up by police as hundreds of motorcycles buzzed by. Just as I was about to back out of the entrance ramp to find an alternative route (it took that long!), the tail end police car passed and we were able to enter 270. I was in the lead, and you can see, in the first picture, the police blockade at the tail of the stream of Rolling Thunder enthusiats. The string of motorcycles in the right lane is preparing to enter George Washington Parkway for that leg of the trip to Washington. It was very exciting to be on the tail-end of this event.
