The configuration of T Shirt Quilt #2 has been established as shown on the paper layout in the picture. After measuring the designs on each T, I made an initial layout on paper and colored the blocks with crayons, matching the T color as closely as possible to have a better visual of the final representation of the quilt. Then I took that layout and remeasured each T's design to be sure that the layout was realistic. What I found was that I had somehow miscalculated on several blocks. This is what snared me on the last T shirt quilt, so I've found that this step of going back an remeasuring and verifying the layout is very important. The layout did change slightly with the second pass. My friend, and Derek's 4th and 5th grade teacher, Burt, will be coming Wed. to help with building the quilt. Most of the T shirts are from Derek's Magruder HS Drama productions, and some are from concerts he attended.
