It doesn't look like much yet, but this is the background for an Inchies Composite I'm working on. A small group of quilters to which I belong exchanged Inchies recently, and we're each to make a larger piece from them. I chose to mount my Inchies on metallic pieces, embellished-- some with silk organza and some with angelina. It will be about a 15x15 piece. The background, while appearing silver in this picture, is actually three black fabrics in four panels: an almost irridescent polyester, black organza lined with cotton, the poly again, and black dupioni silk. I decided to follow the lines of each panel for the quilting. I don't have much else to blog for now; sometimes progress is not so exciting. But it sure was fun to quilt this black piece. I'd forgotten how nice it is to work with silk after working with cotton for some time now.Sunday, March 9, 2008

Looks and sounds good to me. Wig.
I like that background. I love rows of quilting, nice texture.
Thanks for your comment about doing facings the Jeririgged way! I'll bet that lovely quilting would be great with a facing ...
