Starting a Quilt for Stephen

Posted by PicasaWhen not quilting at my sewing machine, I'm quilting in my imagination. Next on my "bed quilt" project list is a quilt for my nephew, Stephen. He has expressed an interest--at least in my interpretation--in a simple quilt in blues or reds. So I've chosen blues in batik fabrics. Here is a picture of the stack I've managed to pull from my stash, and by my calculations it is more than enough for an oversized twin bed quilt. I'm thinking of the body of the quilt in 2" finished strips runing vertically from about a foot from the head and foot, with horizontal 3" strips at the head and foot. The top fabric in the photo has a pink appearance, but in actuality is white with some light blue--no pink! The accent color in the quilt would be reds on the orange side of red--but not much of it. Simple but elegant, at least in my vision of it!
