Having exhausted my very limited supply of stencils, I decided to make one from freezer paper. I have a stash of dry leaves collected this Fall during walks. I pressed one between a folded paper towel to flatten, then traced it onto freezer paper, and cut it out with a utility knife. I painted two, and of the two I like this one best. It is irrid. yellow, then irrid. orange, followed by irrid. red on the tips. Oh, and a bit of green at the base, coming toward the top. After it dries, and it has been heat-set, I'd like to stitch it to see how well it takes machine stitching--or perhaps even hand stitching with a slender strand of silk thread. The whole process was enjoyable.

Wow, you are productive! Love this one, too. I painted leaves on an old desk I have using a similar color-blending technique. I started with fresh leaves and made my own rubber stamps by mounting them onto foam core board. I stamped them onto the desk with green paint and then filled in with wisps of greens, yellows, and purples. Lots of fun. I love seeing your leaf progression! Keep it up!
I just found a whole set of leaves, supposed to be for applique, but this looks like a lot more fun! They were in an old quilting magazine.
I wonder if paintstiks could be applied directly to the leaf and then used to print on the fabric. Then you might even get the veins of the leaf. Hmm. might have to try this.

I owe you more stencils! I put them all aside for ya, just have to drop them off.
