Inchies #2 Beaded

Posted by PicasaThey are difficult to see in the picture, but these Inchies have been beaded. I learned that when beading before finishing the edges, it is wise to consider the pressure foot width. I broke a needle and lost a bead on one of the edges. Several were really too close, but I managed to get the pressure foot past without incident. I'm finding that the beading phase is a lot of fun. It's too bad they really don't show well in the picture. I had about six pictures to choose from and believe it or not, this was the best. More to come another day!

When I click on the picture it enlarges and I can see the beading. You did just enough, not too much. I like these a lot and maybe I will try them too. Can they be any measurement between 1" and 2" and still be inchies?

The Quilting Arts article, "Art by the Inchie", describes them as 1" to 1 1/2" pieces, preferrably square. But I think that if you want to make 2" squares, those would be very nice also. In fact, I may just try that size, too. And, I'm glad that you thought that the amount of beading was right. I'm really liking them with the beads, so I agree!
