For my quilting small group, I'm participating in making Inchies, the Plus Size ones that are 1 1/2 inch squares rather than one inch, as described in the August/September 2007 Quilting Arts magazine. These are made with scraps trapped beneath Mighty Leaf Tea bags, which are woven tea bags. I've been saving my ML tea bags for some time now, each time I go to Carmens Coffee Shop down the street, thinking that I'd use them in a fiber composition when the right time arrives. I think this is a good application for them. I had hoped to do a second batch of Inches this weekend, as I now know better how I'd approach them the second time around. Perhaps this week I'll have a couple of hours to devote to batch #2. I have to say it was fun making these tiny blocks.

These are great! I love the texture overlay and that you used different color thread around the "boxes".
That does look like a lot of fun. I like making little pieces. I have never heard of that brand of tea. What kind of fiber are the bags woven out of? I like the colors in your piece.

Thanks for all comments! To answer the question about the fiber of the bags, I believe the tea bags are nylon. Mighty Leaf is the only tea company that I've come across that has non-paper bags. And, yes, these were a lot of fun to make!
I must say I am inchie ignorant. I will have to get the Quilting Arts magazine and learn more. Your pieces are beautiful and inspiring. I think I am too excited about this to sit at the computer any longer!
