Although I was convinced that our tiny (OK, cozy) little house had no room that would accommodate the sandwiching of Tiff's quilt, we found it could be done in the living room without too much pain. John helped us place squared-up blue tape on the floor, from which to guide us when placing the backing, batting, and top. After sandwiching the three layers, I marked a couple of the lines that will be quilted with stitch-in-the-ditch with those long, yellow-flat-headed pins, and when it was turned over, the lines were parallel to seams on the back, so I feel good about the alignment of the quilt. Tiff has never machine-quilted, and she only tried free-motion quilting on my Bernina for about 3 minutes one day, but she is determined to machine-quilt this herself. I am so proud of her. This quilt really ROCKS! It is square, it drapes nicely, it is carefully constructed, and it is beautiful. Tiff used the Lauren Kingsland method for making this quilt. This picture was taken after we finished the sandwiching, with a piece of the cut-off batting wrapped around her. What a great job, Tiff. I'm tickled with your progress.Saturday, May 24, 2008
Tiff's Quilt, Sandwiched

I still stand by my view that it is "cozy" and not "tiny" :) I think today is the longest we've ever worked on the quilt without Big making himself comfortable on top!
Tiff, I edited the text to concede to your view of my house.
