Silk scraps from
SoLace Studio in Elkton, Va, purchased while visiting the store front/studio. Barbara is the artist who marbles fabric and other surfaces, and it happened that she was there, which was a nice treat. I purchased a red silk top, cut on the bias, with a flattering fit. I perhaps could have worn it to dinner Sat. night, but was afraid of soiling it on my first time out with it. I'm not sure what I'll do with these scraps, but some of the non-marbled pieces of silk are of a good size, so they will be quite useable. I love silks, and have used dupioni silks in some of my work, and with these new scraps I will likely use the matte side rather than the shiney. If you find yourself in the Elkton area, it's well-worth a stop.
