Although we have not been outside yet to measure, overnight we had more snow than I recall ever getting in one period. My first thought upon waking was, "Oh good, the digital clock is displaying the time." Walking around the house, looking out the windows, I realized we are under snow-siege. We should be good for several days, as John did ample grocery shopping Wednesday in preparation for this event. The view out each window has a "wow" effect. I am showing you a few of them. The top photo is a look out the window through what I call "Derek's Garden", the second photo shows the broken snow on the fence line at the property line which I assume is the depth of what we received overnight, and the third photo is the lacey view through the back sliding glass door toward the shop and backyard.
This last photo is of the climbing rose that had hugged the side of the house for several years. Sadly, when I get up the energy this morning, I will have to cut it back severly as it has collapsed across the driveway, and put the cuttings...where? Oh goodness, makes me want to have another cup of hot tea before tackling this. Oh, and yes, it's still snowing. John is stating that he will start to dig out around the back door. When he has made a path to the fallen rose bush, my work will begin.

Next summer the photos will look even lovelier! We have lots too, but in Canada, it is expected. Hope you can dig out soon.
Our electricity is BACK, and I'm grateful for that. We have lots of pine trees which lose big limbs with all of the snow; lots of trimming going on here as well.
