Karen's Chocolat Pillows

Just before Christmas I found a package at the front door. Although I knew that my niece, Karen, was up to making pillow sets as Christmas gifts, I was not aware that I'd be a recipient. I squealed with joy when I opened the box, they were so lovely. Made from Moda's Three Sisters Chocolat fabric line, they have interesting flaps that change the color dominance of the pillow. So if I feel like having them more green, or more blue, I can do that by opening or closing the flaps. She commented that attaching the buttons, which are both back and front, was the hardest part of the process. I believe she made five or six sets of these, all in a short space of time before the holidays, squeezed into the little spare time a special ed teacher has. (She is interested in all-out quilting--rather exciting that someone from the next generation may carry on the quilting tradition in the family.)
