Blog Anniversary, Looking Back and Ahead

One year ago I started this blog, not knowing if blogging would become a part of my life or would be abandoned. Initially it was a way to let my family know what I was doing with my quilting. Then, after joining the Artful Quilters Web Ring, the ring became inspiration to keep up the blogging, and offered an opportunity to make internet friends in the big, wonderful world of quilting. Speaking of that world, I'd like to extend a special thanks to Wanda for the correspondence and her help in building my fabric inventory for the Nancy Crow workshop. If we were geographically close, I'd love to have a cup of tea with her and chat about quilting and life. I have this feeling about many of the quilters I "meet" in cyberspace.

For about two years I've been perusing the blogs of quilters, been inspired by their pictures and stories, and been excited to watch the progress of others. If I have New Year's resolutions, one of them would be to balance being inspired by the work of others and creating my own inspiration. Sometimes I think that I'm dragging my feet by reading blogs, but it is so compelling that I have trouble saying "enough"! Thanks to all the wonderful quilters out there blogging and enticing me into your worlds, and to all those who have left comments on my blog.

Happy New Year to you, the person reading this blog. May you have many happy stitches!

I'm glad you stuck with the blog and I hope to see many more posts. I'm glad you could use the fabrics and I certainly had an overstock of solids.

I love that stone fence/wall in your picture!

Happy New Year to you too....and also happy anniversary!!
I know all too well the feeling that I'm spending too much time reading blogs and not enough time creating my own "stuff". I like to tell my husband (and myself) that I'm doing research when I'm blogging. LOL But it does energize me!

Hi Twila, I know what you mean. Sometimes it seems like it takes so much time, but at the same time, there's a lot of inspiration to found! Happy New Year!

Twila, I too feel connected to other women through the internet. I think that we should not apologize to anyone for taking 30 minutes or so to connect with like minds. It's a lonely world for artists otherwise.
