Beautiful Cross-stitched Quilt

Here in western Pennsylvania, my niece stopped in to show me a large quilt that her husband's maternal Grandmother made recently. She cross-stitched it and it was hand quilted by ladies in her church as I understand it. The red and green colors are just lovely and this quilt will probably grace a guest room in my niece's house in the future.
I learned more about the quilt that is worth adding in here. Rita, the quiltmaker's daughter said, "My mom was very happy with it, as well as the ladies from the church that did the quilting. They called her frequently to share stories. And picture this: the ladies, 60-80 years old would crawl under the frame to get a look at the dark side to see how the quilting looked. How cute is that!"

This is a real treasure. How great that your niece appreciates the work that went into it and will care for it for a long time!
