I've done some applique, but would consider myself as one who avoids applique. Despite this, I offered to do the applique for one 12"x12" block for the 2011 FSQ quilt show quilt because I wanted to contribute, particulary since I did not for the 2010 quilt.
So I've had this block since the January 4th guild meeting, procrastinating on starting the work. It is due at the Feb meeting this Monday, and the photos show the state of the block. It's a simple stem with two leaves. Easy enough. Yep, easy enough, but at the same time daunting. So after I hit "publish post" on this blog entry, I will start working on it and hopefully finish today. I will post my progress later today.

I had to smile about the procrastination. I am trying to get the 'gumption' to work on the hard part of my guild challenge quilt. I started it, and it does not look like what I am aiming for, but I like it anyway. I really want what I was aiming for.
