Go Sis!

My sister also received a quilt top that my Aunt Esther made in the late 80's/early 90's. Hers is in blues, and for some reason my aunt put a cream border on just two sides of the quilt; perhaps she simply had not finished it. After discussing the quilt and the merits of the border, we agreed that the cream border would be removed and replaced with one of a color within the quilt blocks. My niece chose the new border fabric, and I think she did a fabulous pick. The quilt with the new border gives the blues more brilliance and also makes the reds more fabulous. And here I have to say that I am so proud of my sister for tackling this effort of finishing this quilt. She plans to quilt it herself by hand--something I, as a quilter, have not done. I just knew that there may be a quilter hiding in her, waiting for the right moment to blossom. Go Sis!

I cant believe the difference! The new border gives the quilt a completely different look and feel in my opinion. I love it. -Tiff
