Bock...bock bock bock
A thank you note came in the mail today from my wonderful Aunt Elaine. A couple of years ago, I designed and made a special jacket for her, one that I felt aptly reflected her life style and her some of her many interests. The fabric for the jacket was constructed from crazy quilted chicken fabrics and coordinating fun fabrics. The whites were originally too beaming next to the non-whites so I tea dyed all the whites after it was pieced to knock them down. That is, tea dyed with a paint brush, followed by washing the sections before it was constructed. Rayon thread was used for the special top stitching. I can't imagine anyone more appropriate to receive the jacket, and she wears it so elegantly. She has told me that she gets a lot of stares and comments when she wears it. I'm not surprised.
