Simple Yet Quietly Bold

With the financial help from other family members, my Mother and I made a quilt as a gift for Ray and Cynthia's wedding. With earth-tone batiks and neutrals, it is a jewel--though this picture does not fully allow for its simple yet quietly bold beauty. It was hand quilted by a member of the Mennonite community in the Shenandoah Valley--a plus that the batting was wool as this is not an easy task with batiks.
As for Sarah Beth's quilt, there has been progress this week, but the progress is not picture-worthy yet. Hang in there SB, it will be yours!
