It seems forever that I've been watching a certain property go back to nature on the drive to my Mother's house. Each time I pass it, I'm intrigued by the loneliness of the abandoned buildings, the repeating arches, the strung-out low line of the structure, and the wildness and disarry of the surrounding property. This picture, or one of its companion pictures, is calling me to design a textile composition using it as inpiration. What do you think?
Reporting on SB's quilt: I went to Capital Quilts tonight, and it was closed. I then travelled on to G Street Fabrics only to find nothing in the batiks fitting for the applique for her quilt. But GSF did have some other great finds on the remnants rack. I picked up several pieces of silk organza for about half the full price. I never turn down reasonably priced s.o., no matter the color. So the search for the appropriate fabric for the applique on SB's quilt continues.
